RAMADAN BAZAAR WITH SOP AT LA PROMENADE
KUCHING: La Promenade Mall along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway will host a Ramadan Bazaar with high hygiene and safety standards.
La Promenade Mall will implement stricter than required measures to best ensure a safe business platform for all.
Every trader and worker must undergo PCR tests and return negative results three days before the bazaar opens on April 13. There will be special passes and checks at entry points to ensure no misusing of passes. Each stall can only have three people in it.
Booths will also be placed further apart than the minimum two meters required in Government guidelines.
The mall will also deploy its own security guards to ensure social distancing is kept by traders and shoppers.
“We will implement a zero-tolerance policy. Also, this mall encourages the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council to do surprise checks, which will further enhance everyone’s precautionary measures,” senior leasing manager Trish Lui said.
“Truly, we want traders and shoppers to do business with ease of mind. We do not want anyone to feel unsafe. HSL’s own Occupational Health and Safety Department will work closely with our security team.
“We’ll be careful on other factors too. On hygiene, we want our bazaar to have dry floors. Simple things like that go a long way towards cleanliness.”
The bazaar will be on a site larger than 1 acre and there will be no dine-in allowed.
Traders will be required to wear masks, face shields, gloves and aprons. The bazaar will be sectioned into zones, with facilities like cleaning prioritised, and premises sanitised daily.
“Traders should register early now to do Ramadan business at La Promenade Mall. The busy Kuching-Samarahan Expressway, our cleanliness and ease of parking should translate to good business opportunity,” Lui said.
La Promenade Mall opened in January this year. It is a community space with a strong “support local businesses” policy. Tenants include Taka Patisserie, Choice Supermarket, NOMS, Hock King Authentic Chicken Rice, Black Bean Coffee & tea.
In mid year, the mall will be the new home for six charities including Hope Place, Sarawak Women for Women Society, Bodhi Counselling and Helping Hands Penan.
The mall is also in the midst of applying for permits for Weekend Farmers Bazaar.
