Hock Seng Lee (HSL) achieved better than expected results at its Merdeka Sales @ Highfields event, with bookings on 60% of its semi-detached units on offer.

The on-going promos, held at phase two of the residential development along Jalan Batu Kawa, kicked off last Friday to coincide with the feel-good public holidays.

HSL organised a CSR programme with SHiNE Pharmacy, offering free medical check-ups Friday to Sunday, which drew in healthy crowd sizes.

“Almost half of our bookings were on Friday — we knew straight away we were on to a good weekend,” general manager Ling Lai Kiong said.

“We were pleasantly surprised by the positive response to the Semi-Ds. This augurs well for Highfields II, not to mention the under-construction Highfields phase three, as it signifies consumer confidence in our higher-end offerings.”

With long-term planning, HSL is able to focus on landed developments in a time when most new launches have been serviced apartments.

“We firmly believe there is significant appetite for homes with gardens, with its own car porches, where the density is ultra-low, featuring plenty of open, usable green spaces,” Ling said.

To emphasise the point, remote-control car competitions and portrait drawing sessions were held on the gardens within the estate during the promo.

Corporate affairs manager Shirley Loo said affordability played a big part in the weekend’s brisk sales.

“We designed this campaign around a market survey. For Highfields, we are waiving legal fees and stamp duty for sales and purchase agreements, memorandum of transfer and charge, as well as offering zero down-payment,” Loo said.

“We made sure to emphasise on large land sizes. We have kept to only eight homes per acre, even though new rules allow 10 homes per acre. We want to create the best value-for-money homes with this Merdeka promo,” she added.

SHiNE Pharmacy managing director Charles Liew called the collaboration a “refreshing one, because it allows both companies to reach people they don’t normally reach since we are both in different industries”.

“SHiNE Pharmacy is always excited to be able to serve crowds they wouldn’t otherwise have been able to serve. We really liked the showhome and the overall event set up, it was very chill with the music, food, and one-to-one chats our consultants had with visitors,” Liew said.

Semi-detached homes at Highfields II are priced from RM599,000. Terrace homes with internal courtyards are also available. The showhome, which is priced at RM778,888, is open for viewing daily from 10am to 5pm. Search for ‘Highfields Phase II’ on Waze and Google Maps.

HSL’s sales consultants have partnered with Maybank to offer a full-range of financial assistance and customers’ ease of mind.
