KUCHING: Hock Seng Lee (HSL) brought cheer to The Salvation Army Kuching Children’s Home recently by cleaning and improving the shelter as part of its commitment towards its new ‘Healthy Bodies, Happy Minds’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Coordinated by its Human Resources and Corporate Communications Department, the company wide outreach programme was first launched in December last year to help the underprivileged communities and at the same time serve as a team-building activity for its staff.
Corporate communications manager Cheryl Cheah said the company remains highly committed in its role towards developing a ‘clean, green and healthy’ community and encourages volunteerism among its employees.
“This is the third CSR event we have organised this year since “Healthy Bodies, Happy Minds” was rolled out. Our CSR efforts are driven by a sincere passion to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s a privilege to be able to give back to the community especially those who are less fortunate. What’s even more meaningful is that our employees got their hands dirty and saw the impact they had on the children,” said Cheah.

Hock Seng Lee (HSL) staffs were seen cleaning up The Salvation Army Kuching Children’s Home last Saturday.

The company sponsored all equipments and materials to help refurbish the building and facilities to give the children a safe space to play.

Some of HSL employees also read stories and played games with the children at the shelter.
